Wisdom of Three: the Power of Gratitude and Reality

This week, we're stepping out from the center circle of Self to do a bit of exploration of the middle ring of Reality. As you have surely garnered from previous episodes, this middle ring is representational of our physical world, which includes things like our body, home, belongings, family, and other real world, tangible stuff. If you can touch or own it, it belongs here, in the middle circle.

Mastering and creating a reality that fits our spiritual and innermost desires isn't easy by any means. It becomes even more difficult when we become fixated on only those physical things, without considering how our immaterial selves and realities are affecting the material ones. In fact, I personally think that it is absolutely impossible to create a physical reality that reflects our innermost desires and wishes by focusing on the physical aspects alone. This blog entry is going to explain why I believe that, and why I also believe that having both spiritual and inner balance should come first, every time!

First, we'll state the obvious: that middle circle is the Self, and the other circles aren't whole without it. For that reason, I feel like knowing who you are is the most important step in creating a physical reality in which we are happy and content. Being able to be grateful and glad for the ways your physical reality does currently reflect your inner desires is also a major component of finding overall bliss in the physical world. Gratitude, like many positive spiritual practices, requires mental mastery, and the ability to look at things around you from a place of abundance. I am a firm believer that finding contentment in our current place, even if that place is not fully reflective of where we want to be, is a pivotal step in actually creating the real world, physical changes you ultimately desire.

By learning to recognize the things that make your spirit truly content to be alive, you are not only helping to define your Self, but you are also creating deeper connection with your spiritual self, and your overall life's purpose. Being truly aligned with who we are meant to be takes lots of work and time, and for some it comes much easier than others. It is a very important process for all of us, however, especially those of us who are destined, in this lifetime, to seek enlightenment, or a deeper understanding of the truest universal truths.

By recognizing what we do like, we also can better see what we do not like about our realities. This makes it easier to do the real work necessary in the physical world: create change. When we know where and how we need to create that change, it makes it a lot easier to do! We can also create change that is permanent, or at least close enough to it, because we have adjusted our reality to reflect a way of life that is aligned with our spirit's overall purpose, rather than being moved by the desires, or simply by consequence, of the world or people around us.

When we are aligned with our purpose, we create more meaningful changes in the world around us. We certainly feel more at peace and contented with the changes we are creating, as well, mostly because we are no longer harming or pushing away people and things that we like or want to keep around. We are only doing away with or transmuting the parts of our reality that do not suit us, or are undesirable, creating a physical reality that is much more suitable to our liking.

Affirmation:

I master my reality by maintaining mastery of myself.
