Welcome to the Wisdom of Three, a series that delves into what I think to be one of the most mystical symbols (and underrated, honestly) in all of the occult: the Triple Circle! While the number three is in and of itself incredibly symbolic and wonderful in its own accord, combing that wonderful number of the Goddess, progress, and balance between mind, body, and spirit with the circle gives it a whole new depth and complexity. With the help of this symbol in particular, I've come to a wide range of deeper insights about the complexly integrated nature of our universe, and I'd love to share them with you here.
The triple circle compounds on mind, body, and spirit, and is formed of three nestled circles, like so, with the mind being the center-most ring:

Beyond the circle is the realm of spirit. While the rings inside the circle are controlled by time, and shape what we perceive to be our reality, the area beyond it is one that is not so easily understood or controlled. The universe's boundless abundance and the very nature of everything flows from this realm, however. I often envision the outer area of the circles to be pitch black, while the circles are spinning and white upon that simple plane.
As the arrows indicate, all the layers, even that of spirit, interact with one another in a complicated dance and exchange of energy. Finding balance between the flow of these energies is, by my regards, the meaning of life. It is through finding this balance that we become one with our place in the flow of everything, and, by proxy, realize we have always been there all along. Many describe this experience as the universe experiencing itself, which I also quite like.
We are at the very center of the circle - at least the us that is inside of our minds, reading these words right now. This is where we dream and envision our place in the physical world, and ignite the spark that allows us to shift our souls towards our ultimate goals and destinies. Everything that we are and will be begins here: the place we were placed when we passed through the veil of consciousness, and forgot who we truly are. That is the question that we (and the universe, really) is seeking to answer through the act of life, to be honest: who am I? Why am I here?
We define our answers to these questions by fleshing out those answers in our physical world. We often learn to correlate who we are to our physical bodies, or the things those bodies are good at. We may decide that, because we have a vagina, we are meant to like children, and so we add having children to our list of dreams, without ever truly considering if that is what we want. We might determine that because we are tall, we are meant to be an athlete, all while denying our truest desire to become a musician. It's easy to see why so many people make this simple mistake when we look at the triple circle. If we are placed, immediately, into the center, where our thoughts lie, then then first thing our thoughts encounter is the physical world we are surrounded by. That physical world is not who we are, however, but where we are. It places certain limitations on us, to be sure, but many of those limitations can be overcome, and almost none of them cannot simply be gone around some other way, even if that other way is just by returning to center, and changing how we are thinking about the situation or trouble at hand.
Who are we, really, then? The answer is complicated, but by the time we make it to the last circle, we also find our answer. Who we are is a combination of many things: who we have been, who we think we are, who we are becoming, who we want to become, and who we actually are at this present moment in time. All of these things compose our spirit, or our own personal, unique piece in the greater puzzle of everything. In order to see where our individual piece belongs in the big picture, however, we have to be able to fully see ourselves for who we are in the first place. It's a complicated conundrum, and why it requires so many bounces back and forth between the concepts of who we are in relation to our mind, body, and spirit before we figure it out. It's why so many of us never seem to, or even bother to try.
It is why you're here, reading this, though, and certainly a major part of why I am so grateful to you, and anyone else seeking to better understand their place in the universe.
